What is collaborative law?

The Collaborative process involves meetings between the couple and their collaborative lawyers to explore, discuss and resolve their issues openly and cooperatively. These are known as ‘four-way meetings’. The Court’s involvement is then limited simply to approve any agreement reached between the parties.

Straightforward Support
The traditional adversarial approach can be costly and time consuming, quite apart from the emotional toll! We can offer a less stressful alternative.
Maintaining Relationships
We aid the hope to maintain a good relationship with their partner in the future, especially where they will be continuing their relationship as parents.
Tailor-Made Solutions
We offer the benefit of other professionals, such as accountants, to advise you and your partner jointly, so you can consider all options together.
Full Control
We give you the ability to have control over the process and the decision reached in respect of children and finances rather than leaving it to court decision.
Fair Negotiations
At the beginning of the process all we ask for: is full financial disclosure, to negotiate openly and in good faith and agree to opt out of going to court.
Amicable Proceedings
The main aim of collaborative law is to assist couples and resolve family disputes amicably without the need to go to court.
